Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin caught on camera TOGETHER as they enjoy a sunset beach party with Jay-Z

Rare picture: Elusive couple Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin are photographed together at a beach party in the Hamptons

They make a point of never being photographed together and are very very rarely seen out in public with each other.

So it was a pleasant surprise not only to see Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow out together but to be actually be caught on camera too.

The couple were snapped having fun on a beach near their luxury $5.4 million holiday home in the exclusive Hamptons in upstate New York

Actress Gwyneth, 37, and Coldplay frontman Martin, 33, were snapped smiling and laughing together and looking very relaxed as they chatted on the sand.

The couple, who have been married for six years, have been enjoying a summer break at their holiday home with daughter Apple, six, and four-year-old son Moses

And as the evening went on, their good friend Jay-Z dropped in to join in the party without wife Beyonce.

The 40-year-old rapper and businessman greeted Gwyneth warmly with a hug bear hug as they stood around by the surf and caught up.

She was snapped laughing at his jokes as other friends of the couple mingled around them on the sand.

Chris was also seen sporting an ankle cast on his right foot after what is believed to be a surfing injury.

According to reports, the musician has been enjoying the water every day on his trip until he hurt his foot.

He has been making the most of his time off from recording sessions with Coldplay as they work on the follow-up to the 2008 album Viva La Vida.

Chris, Gwyneth and Jay-Z have been friends since 2003 when they met at a charity event, and the rapper said they hit it off instantly.

Speaking to the Sunday Times magazine last year, he said: 'We clicked right away and it was like we were instant best friends.

‘He is a fantastic person, very passionate about what he does, and also very analytical and intelligent.

'I love Chris’ wife. And his kids call me “Uncle Jay”, and I really appreciate that.’
