China to Standardize Contracts on Overseas Travel
CRIENGLISH.com Jan. 22, 2007 - The situation of disputes caused by irregular overseas travel contracts will be improved as China enforces a unified overseas travel contract model and builds up a long-term credit system in 2007. This is the hope of the China National Tourism Administration, which says the new model of overseas travel contract will be rectified by the China National Tourism Administration and the State Administration for Industry and Commerce.
The unified model will reduce the disputes and traps caused by the troubled waters of irregular travel contracts. As China has become the biggest overseas travel market in Asia, the number of overseas destinations for Chinese travelers has grown rapidly. But, at the same time, disordered travel contracts have frequently ignited disputes between clients and travel agencies over alterations to lodgings, shopping and extra expenses during travel.

New rules for Chinese travel Tvnz.co.nz, Oct. 13, 2006 - China is cracking down on airline passengers who change seats, smoke and wander the cabin at inappropriate times, threatening them with fines of up to 10,000 yuan local media reported on Friday. Airlines in China have previously taken a relaxed attitude to the flouting of in-flight rules, with cabin staff invariably ignoring the stowing of oversized luggage and allowing fliers to swap seats at will. But in a sign of changing times China has introduced rules that allow fines for ignoring cabin staff orders, smoking, stowing oversized and overweight hand luggage, "creating disturbances" and 13 other sort of behaviour, the paper said.
