Busan Tower is one of the most popular attractions in this second largest city in South Korea, largely because of the amazing views it offers of the city, Busan Harbor, and the sea beyond. The iconic tower in Busan Korea stands at nearly 400 feet (on top of an already tall hill) and was constructed in 1973. The famous Busan Tower view allows guests to get a good idea of the scale on which the port operations take place on a daily basis in this city.
Sightseeing from the top of the tower is certainly the biggest draw to this attraction in South Korea, but there are a variety of attractions nearby that will help round out a full day of quality sightseeing. Yongdusan Park is a popular place located right below Busan Tower where people of all ages hang out for games and recreational activities. Plan an afternoon at this historic landmark if you are staying in Busan and you will not only enjoy the unrivaled sights from the tower, but also the range of activities at the park below including games for the kids, vendors selling a variety of food, and a whole host of entertaining sights and sounds.
Busan is the second busiest port in South Korea and fifth busiest port in the entire world. You don’t really get an appreciation for what kind of sea traffic this equals until you have a bird’s eye view of the entire operations. The Busan Tower view is undoubtedly the best in the city and gives you a glimpse of the massive cargo ships entering and exiting the port. On clear days and nights the views of the city are also breathtaking.
There is so much to see in Busan and the topography is so diverse and beautiful that it is nice to have a place from which to view nearly all of it. Many people travel only to Seoul when they make the trip to South Korea, but traveling to places like Busan offer a more well-rounded view of this country. Not everyone realizes that this is a thriving metropolis of nearly 4 million people. It is a cultural center to be sure in South Korea, with a vibrant nightlife scene, lots of options for entertainment and dining, and a wide variety of accommodations and tourist destinations. Besides all of the amenities and accommodations that modern travelers have come to expect, Busan also opens up another side of Korea to its visitors. One of the greatest aspects of the city is the fusion of old world and new world Korea. You can find the most modern electronics and robotics downtown and also stray from the beaten path where you will encounter sacred temples, all in the same day. The temples are usually nestled into the foothills of the mountains, as in the case of the Beomeosa Temple, which is situated at the feet of Mount Geumjeongsan.
Atop Busan Tower it is possible to see many of these popular sites and the formidable limestone mountains and sprawling valleys that make up the hilly terrain of this mountainous, coastal city. Busan also has a number of beautiful beaches, some are white sand, others are black pebble. They add another dimension to the distinctive allure of Busan. If you are staying in this ancient city, you will want to be sure to experience the Busan Tower view to be able to see as much of the city as possible.
