Amsterdam nightlife is known throughout the world as having its very own flair. Unlike any other city on the planet, Amsterdam nightlife is really its own scene. Amsterdam clubs can be calm and jazzy, or Amsterdam clubs can take on all of the wildness that a city where soft drugs and prostitution are legal might take on. Amsterdam nightlife also has its own arts scene, so no matter what your tastes you are sure to find something to suit your mood in Amsterdam.
Since the city is so large, it is often easiest to tack the Amsterdam clubs in sections. Leidseplein is the center of the nightlife scene, where you will find the city"s most popular restaurants and bars around the square. Rembrandtplein is loud section of town that also has its share of Amsterdam night clubs and even some casinos. The area known as Reguliersdwarsstraat is also nearby, and here you will find more cafes and Amsterdam night clubs.
If you are looking for casino Amsterdam night clubs, head to Leidseplein. Here you will find the most popular, and largest, casino in the city and probably The Netherlands. You must be 18 years old to enter a casino in The Netherlands, and you also will be asked to adhere to a dress code. A jacket and tie are probably best for men. Every kind of game you can imagine can be found in the casino.
Amsterdam night clubs for dancing can be found absolutely everywhere in the city. The residents of Amsterdam have a particular affection for pop music, and dance clubs are among the most popular places to go on a Saturday night. Although locals sometimes have trouble getting into dance clubs if they aren’t a member, tourists have the advantage of being moved to the front of the line. Just be sure to show your passport since you will need to show it in order to get in the door.
If you don’t feel like dancing, you can also head to the theater or concert hall to enjoy a show. The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra is actually one of the best orchestras in the world and likely in Amsterdam. Although, the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra is equally brilliant, and between the two you should have no trouble located a show or finding a good time to go and enjoy the music. The Netherlands also has its own Opera group, and you can usually catch a show at least once a month. The Netherlands Dance Theater and the National Ballet round out the performing arts scene by offering a growing number of dance performances to enjoy.
The Netherlands may be far north on the globe, but there is certainly not any lack of entertainment during the evening in The Netherlands. Although the most happening nightlife scene is in Amsterdam, other cities such as The Hague, Rotterdam and Utrecht also have great nightlife scenes.
