Mediterranean sun and clean turquoise sea with numerous areas of untouched and clean nature that cannot be found elsewhere, this is the main feature of Croatia.
Croatia offers a wide range of accommodation possibilities: hotels, camping, private apartments, villas, eco, agro or farmhouses, hostels, spas and health resorts, marinas and even lighthouses.
The pricing of accommodation along the Croatian coast is charged according to three seasons. Generally October to May are the cheapest months, June and Sep¬tember are mid-priced, but count on paying top price for the peak season, which runs for a six-week period in July and August.
Hotels
Hotels are ranked from one to five stars, but most of them are in two- and three-star range. Features, such as satellite TV, direct-dial phones, bathrooms, minibars and air-condition, are standard in four- and five-star hotels and one star hotels have at least a telephone in the room. Many two- and three-star hotels offer satellite TV. Breakfast is usually included in the price of the hotels and usually includes a juice drink, bread, cheese, yogurt, cereal and cold cuts, as well as coffee and tea.
Camping
Nearly 100 camping grounds are scattered along the Croatian coast. Most operate only from mid-May to September, although a few are open in April and October. In May and late September, call ahead to make sure the camping ground is open before beginning the long trek out.
Many camping grounds, especially in Istria, are gigantic ‘autocamps’ with restaurants, shops and row upon row of caravans.
Nudist camping grounds (marked FKK) are among the best because their secluded locations ensure peace and quiet. However, bear in mind that irregular camping is officially prohibited.
